He is a board-certified physician who co-founded and practices at Premier Pain Centers, the largest pain management practice in New Jersey. In addition to his practice, Peter serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and is the founder of the Division of Pain Medicine at JHU.
U.S. News and World Report has named Peter one of America’s Top Doctors for the last decade, noted as being among the top 1 percent of pain management physicians in the country. He has been acknowledged as one of New Jersey’s Top Doctors from New Jersey Monthly magazine for the past seven years. Peter also received the Outstanding Pain Physician award, a national recognition as selected by his peers in the interventional pain medicine community.
Peter is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Pain Medicine and the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is a fellow of the World Institute of Pain and the North American Neuromodulation Society. Peter is the author of more than 200 articles, abstracts and chapters regarding pain management and has written several books on the science of pain medicine.
Peter received his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed his residency and fellowship training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Maryland. He also holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins.
